Music Monday--Last of the Summer Wine--Triple Feature
Last of the Summer Wine was a series in the UK from 1973-2009. The theme music, along with the music for each show was written by Ronnie Hazlehurst and performed beautifully by a group of talented musicians. The first video features the instrumental music and the second video shows the music with words included. The third video is sung by the same group and includes words written to say goodbye to the character Compo, after the actor Bill Owen, died of cancer in 1999.

Dymphna's favorite quotes
"Slavery ended in medieval Europe only because the church extended its sacraments to all slaves and then managed to impose a ban on the enslavement of Christians (and of Jews). Within the context of medieval Europe, that prohibition was effectively a rule of universal abolition. "— Rodney Stark
