Depression Cooking with Clara--baked apples

Clara is a 94 year old great grandmother who has a cooking channel on YouTube where she shares recipes that got her family through the Great Depression.

This one is for baked apples--something both my mom and my late mother-in-law used to make.

She is sweet. It is great someone is documenting this. One of the things that upsets me is that I wish I had gotten some of my mother's famous recipes before she passed away. But, at least I have some. Maybe Clara will have some?

I love this lady! My parents grew up in the Great Depression and this reminds me of my Grandmother's cooking which I enjoyed when we lived near her in the late 40s and early 50s. Thanks for posting this. We need to remember our roots.

Remembering our roots and our history is important. With the economy the way it is, there are many who appreciate recipes like this.
