Sunday Snippets--A Catholic Carnival
Sunday Snippets is brought to you each week by RAnn at a This, That and the Other Thing. This week completed our Novena to St. Dymphna, complete with a different artistic rendering every day. In between, I blogged about St. Monica on Mother's Day, and the parody on the English poster, Keep Calm and Have a Cupcake. I also highlighted Dr. Carol Williams playing a 1610 organ (more on her tomorrow)and also talked about Jesus' last words to the disciples in the Gospel of Matthew.

Dymphna's favorite quotes
"Slavery ended in medieval Europe only because the church extended its sacraments to all slaves and then managed to impose a ban on the enslavement of Christians (and of Jews). Within the context of medieval Europe, that prohibition was effectively a rule of universal abolition. "— Rodney Stark
