You mean they *are* people?!

This entire story on CitizenLink is worth going to and reading.

Ted Harvey, assistant minority leader in the Colorado House of Representatives was troubled by a pending vote in that House to honor the 90 year legacy of Planned Parenthood and wondered what he could do about it.

He discovered that Gianna Jessen was in town and asked her to come to be recognized on the floor of the Colorado House. She agreed.

Once there, he told her story of overcoming the physical limitations of her Cerebral Palsy by physical therapy, leg braces, a walker, and later, a personal trainer. She went on to run a marathon.

The House chamber "exploded into applause which lasted for 15-to-20 seconds. Gianna had touched their souls. Ironically, Alice Madden, the majority leader and sponsor of the Planned Parenthood resolution, walked over to Gianna and congratulated her."

Mr. Harvey then went on to tell, as he put it, "the rest of the story." In Gianna's particular case, her CP was caused by a failed late-term abortion performed on her then 17 year old mother by Planned Parenthood. She was born alive and adopted at the age of 4.

The speaker banged the gavel, saying, "Representative Harvey, I will allow you to continue your introduction, but not for the purposes of debating a measure now pending before the House."

Mr. Harvey replied, "Mr. Speaker, I understand. I just wanted to put a face to what we are celebrating today."

Then, he reports,

Deafening silence.

The House Majority Leader was all too willing to congratulate an inspirational woman with CP, "but was outraged when she discovered that the person she congratulated was also an abortion survivor."

Apparently, for some people, that changes everything.

Bravo to Ted Harvey! I hope this changed the minds of some of the representative there. For most people abortion is the murder of someone not seen. They got to see the victim of this genocide for once...it's about time.

Wow that's great! It's definitely good for them to actually have a face to see what they are trying to kill. Maybe they will realize that it's not just some imaginary thing...it's a fully real human person!

"Slavery ended in medieval Europe only because the church extended its sacraments to all slaves and then managed to impose a ban on the enslavement of Christians (and of Jews). Within the context of medieval Europe, that prohibition was effectively a rule of universal abolition. "— Rodney Stark
