Ethiopian Runner Carries OLPH Icon on Olympic Run

Orthodox Christian Olympic runner, Meseret Defar, carried a cloth icon of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in her jersey during her Olympic run.  When she won the gold, she took it out  in praise and witness.

Christianity is indeed strongest and growing in non-Western countries.  We would do well to learn from their example.

Be not afraid.

Our Lady of Perpetual Help, pray for us!

"Slavery ended in medieval Europe only because the church extended its sacraments to all slaves and then managed to impose a ban on the enslavement of Christians (and of Jews). Within the context of medieval Europe, that prohibition was effectively a rule of universal abolition. "— Rodney Stark
