Poetry Wednesday

my husband--
the comforting *clank* of Volkswagen tools
on the garage floor

This is one of my haiku and continues this week's theme of my husband's birthday.

Nice poem. It shows how we become confortable with patterns and recognize them as a sign that we are safe. Sort of like listening to a loved one breathe while they sleep or hearing the garage door open and recognizing he is home from work. The comfort it brings is welcomed.

I can hear it now. Good job in bringing us to the moment.

"Slavery ended in medieval Europe only because the church extended its sacraments to all slaves and then managed to impose a ban on the enslavement of Christians (and of Jews). Within the context of medieval Europe, that prohibition was effectively a rule of universal abolition. "— Rodney Stark
