Art and Beauty Tuesday

This is Loading Dock, a water color by Mary Sheehan Winn.   I was first attracted to the colors in this painting--especially the blues and purples.  The beauty here belies the subject matter.  A simple loading dock is seen as something beautiful by the diffused lighting and the bright colors.

For some reason, I think it is the loading dock at a zoo. Not sure why ... maybe all the greenery? Beautiful colors!

Omg, your word verification is: ARTation. (Caps my emphasis!).

I like the idea of a zoo!

Your word verification the other day was something that sounded distinctly eastern. Very appropriate!

Really lovely colors. Good art takes the commonplace and elevates it to beauty. It is a great gift to see beyond the ordinary. It is something I am trying to learn.

I think that is one of the cornerstones of spirituality, Barbara.

"Slavery ended in medieval Europe only because the church extended its sacraments to all slaves and then managed to impose a ban on the enslavement of Christians (and of Jews). Within the context of medieval Europe, that prohibition was effectively a rule of universal abolition. "— Rodney Stark
