Poetry Wednesday--The Owl and The Pussycat

This is one of my favorite poems and has been since I was a child.  Edward Lear's The Owl and the Pussycat is a children's classic.

My son had this book on tape when he was a kid.

It really is. I remember my dad reading it to us.

I remember my Grandmother and Mother reading this to me and my brother back in the 1940s. Then I read it to my younger brother and sisters. Classics are great.

They really are. I always said if I had a sail boat, I'd paint it green and name it "The Owl and the Pussycat."

Dymphna's favorite quotes

"Slavery ended in medieval Europe only because the church extended its sacraments to all slaves and then managed to impose a ban on the enslavement of Christians (and of Jews). Within the context of medieval Europe, that prohibition was effectively a rule of universal abolition. "— Rodney Stark
