Music Monday

This is an amazing video of Dr. Carol Williams playing an organ built in 1610. I've heard this type of music played, usually as a background for a program about King Henry VIII or Queen Elizabeth I, but I've never actually seen anyone play the instrument itself.

When my dh heard me playing this is said it sounded like the Renassaince Festival. The woman who is playing it sounds so excited for the opportunity.

It does. I thought it was cool to find this video. I'm going to post more of her stuff next Monday.

I love the videos you post. This was really cool. Music from all eras has its own charm and it is so neat to actually see the instrument and the guy working the bellows. We're spoiled today with our electronics.

True, Barbara! My dh can make the "keyboard" at our church sound like just about anything!

"Slavery ended in medieval Europe only because the church extended its sacraments to all slaves and then managed to impose a ban on the enslavement of Christians (and of Jews). Within the context of medieval Europe, that prohibition was effectively a rule of universal abolition. "— Rodney Stark
