God's Prescription Against Anxiety

He who practices virtue and speaks honestly,
stopping his ears lest he hear of bloodshed,
closing his eyes lest he look on evil.
~Isaiah 33

Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

~Philippians 4:7-8

Keep your mind pure and free from the cares of this world by focusing on Jesus Christ and His love. Keep away, as much as you can, from needless cares, stoked like a destructive fire, by the modern world.

The picture is so beautiful and simple. I think just looking at it would help reduce anxiety. Reading this reminds to to "lift it up" and the song, "Lay Down Your Burdens."

"Slavery ended in medieval Europe only because the church extended its sacraments to all slaves and then managed to impose a ban on the enslavement of Christians (and of Jews). Within the context of medieval Europe, that prohibition was effectively a rule of universal abolition. "— Rodney Stark
