Special Intention

I wanted to ask you all to please pray for my husband who is going in for a chest xray for possible lung cancer on Tuesday.  Please pray that God sends us all we need to go through this and that if it is His will, that my husband be healed.

I will remember your husband's intentions at First Saturday Mass tomorrow morning and from now on. Take courage, dear Dymphna: God is with you and He will lead you where you should be. May God bless you, and may Our Lady protect you.

O holy Father, heavenly Physician of our souls and bodies, who hast sent thine Only-begotten Son our Lord Jesus Christ to heal all our ailments and deliver us from death: do thou visit and heal thy servant , granting him release from pain and restoration to health and vigor, that he may give thanks unto thee and bless thy holy Name, of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit: now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.

I'm praying for you to go through this and to have courage and faith.

Thank you, Kindred Spirit. I agree--God has already broken open the shell I had built around myself.

Thank you, SMA. Pray also that my husband is sent a person to guide him spiritually through this. Right now it is not obvious to us who this person is.

Yes of course I will pray and ask others too as well!!

Call anytime. Sending phone number in e-mail. Remember I'm three hours behind you so if you need to talk late at night your time...it's not late my time. Besides I work night shift therefore tend to be up pretty late.

Heavenly Father, we plead for your protection in this time of uncertainty. Protect your son's health and give him courage to face the unknown. Remind him in your sweet and gentle way that you are always with him, loving him and caring for him. Amen.

I've been praying and continue to do so. Perhaps your dh will feel comfortable emailing me? Just an idea. Hugs to both of you.

"Slavery ended in medieval Europe only because the church extended its sacraments to all slaves and then managed to impose a ban on the enslavement of Christians (and of Jews). Within the context of medieval Europe, that prohibition was effectively a rule of universal abolition. "— Rodney Stark
