I made chili last night and in spite of its lack of meat, it was pronounced a success by my dh. Here are the ingredients--most in estimated amounts.
1 pound of dry red beans, cooked using the 90 minute no soak method.
1 can italian stewed tomatoes
1 can crushed tomatoes
2 onions, chopped
2 carrots, grated
1/4 cup brewed Yogi Sweet Mexican Chili Tea
To taste:
tomato juice
worcestershire sauce
soy sauce
salt
garlic powder
cumin
oregano
chili powder
peanuts (to substitute for the cashews the recipe called for)
Top with plain yogurt or sour cream

This sounds yummy, chili is very popular in my house. The tea threw me for a loop but I have used other Yogi products before, I wasn't aware of this one though. I'll have to look for it.
I've had other Yogi teas as well. This one is quite hot! I was very surprised and didn't think I had a use for it, since I am a bit of a spice wimp. But my friend suggested I use it in chili and, it seems do-able. I may add more next time.
are you getting tons of snow there? it said on our news that almost the entire eastern usa has snow.
Oh, yeah! "Tons and tons" of snow, Marilena!
Sounds very good. Dh made his customary Super Bowl chili. It was s-p-i-c-e-y! It's been great eating the leftovers with all this snow.
The snow came at a perfect time as everyone was making their Super Bowl Chili!
i hate snow
