Thou hast set all the borders of the earth: thou hast made summer and winter. ~Psalm 74:17Well, summer is here, ladies and gentlemen and all I can say is, YUK! It's unbearable here for a woman in her mid '40's such as myself in my non-air conditioned house and its not 11 am yet! Oh well, I think I'll be drinking a lot of iced tea this summer! Thank God for the mint that grows prolifically in my garden.

"Slavery ended in medieval Europe only because the church extended its sacraments to all slaves and then managed to impose a ban on the enslavement of Christians (and of Jews). Within the context of medieval Europe, that prohibition was effectively a rule of universal abolition. "— Rodney Stark
