Buy Healthy Food Day

I've decided that today is "Buy Healthy Food" Day. After a holiday season of eating good-tasting-but-bad-for-you food, I went out today and replentished my stash of fruits and veggies.

Ah, the motivation of a new year!

Great minds run along the same track! Tuesday was a day when my body and brain needed more healthy food in a diet that has been too filled with dark chocolate, coffee, eggnog, goose liver pate, cheese, turkey, roast beef, ham, ice cream, plum pudding, candy of various types, cookies, etc. since Thanksgiving. So it was fruit and nuts and olive oil and water for me. And it will be thus for a while yet, I think.

Me too! I'm still using up leftover ham though. But its good to have salad in the house again!

What a great idea! It's so much better for us that greasy, sugary stuff.
Fantastic way to start the new year!

I really appreciate this reminder to eat healthy. I'm moving more into leafy greens and chicken. But I have to say that it's so difficult to stay away from the Christmas goodies. There's only one leftover in the house... and that's Zanze's cheescake.

Well, it's the middle of August
but my husband bought a very
rich chocolate cream pie yesterday
and unfortunately we pigged out.

So this is quite a nice reminder
to stock up on more healthy food
and forget about the rich stuff.

Sure feels better when we eat right.
