This weekend is the Feast of Corpus Christi--the Body of Christ.
These Capuchin Franciscans bring the Blessed Sacrament into the middle of the Preston, England marketplace and preach in a beautifully simple way on Jesus through the Bible.
I think taking the Blessed Sacrament among the people always has an effect. I am always sad that our parish is a rural one and our Corpus Christi procession is not in a neighborhood where many people can experience it.
"Slavery ended in medieval Europe only because the church extended its sacraments to all slaves and then managed to impose a ban on the enslavement of Christians (and of Jews). Within the context of medieval Europe, that prohibition was effectively a rule of universal abolition. "— Rodney Stark

I wish more people had stopped and knelt. So many just passed by not knowing the One who loves them more than they can imagine.
