Music Monday--Advent--Lo How a Rose 'Ere Blooming
This choral arrangement of Lo, How a Rose 'Ere Blooming is accompanied by beautifully seasonal pictures. I like to bring out this carol on the third Sunday of Advent (the "rose" Sunday) in anticipation of Christmas and I make sure to sing at least one verse in German.
There are some who put off decorating for Christmas proper (as opposed to any Advent decorating that you do) until the third Sunday of Advent, using the more joyful rose liturgical color as the go-ahead to put up the tree et. al.

Dymphna's favorite quotes
"Slavery ended in medieval Europe only because the church extended its sacraments to all slaves and then managed to impose a ban on the enslavement of Christians (and of Jews). Within the context of medieval Europe, that prohibition was effectively a rule of universal abolition. "— Rodney Stark
