Twinings English Afternoon--Tea Review

I purchased Twinings English Afternoon tea after searching in vain for a palatable English Afternoon tea that is packaged on its own.

Almost a year ago, I reviewed the Dilmah  variety pack and have been on the lookout for their English Afternoon to no avail.

Twinings just doesn't come anywhere near the standard of Dilmah, in my opinion.  There seems to be less tea per bag and what is there is of lesser quality. The aroma of Twinings isn't as good as Dilmah either.

I'm going to have to expand my search for Dilmah English Afternoon to my neighboring state to the south!

I have had the exact opposite experience, tried Dilmah didn't like it, but love Twinings, especially their English Breakfast and Earl Grey blends, Afternoon type do seem to be 'lighter' = weaker to me as I like a robust flavour but not builders! I take my tea black no sugar.
Are you in UK?

What initially impressed me about Dilmah was the aroma--definitely better than Twinings, imo.

I'm in the U.S. so I have to take what I can get here! My real dream would be some Dilmah decaf so I could drink it during the day.

I know its hard to get good tea in the usa, we have relatives in Georgia and when we went we drank coffee or unsweetened iced tea.

Iced tea is yummy, especially in the summer! We used to have 3-4 tea houses here in historic Gettysburg, but when the economy tanked, they went away. There is (as far as I know) still one really good one on the outskirts of town, but, of course, one has to make a reservation.

I really need to start using loose tea and boiling the water on the stove. A true English person would recoil in horror at my tea habits.

most of us use bags, dont worry about that just make sure you use freshly drawn water and it must be boiling! (and dont forget to warm the pot)
You live in Gettysburg? wow thats such an historic location! are you near the Battlefield?
Bridgend is just halfway between Cardiff and Swansea but the Romans and the Marcher lords and Owain Glyndwr all fought their way around the area.We have 4 castles !

Good to know I can use tea bags and still be authentic! I'm going to have to discipline myself to boil the water, though.

We aren't too far from the battle field here. It's funny how we in America think that something is really historic if it's 200 years old. I wish we had the history here that you do there.

You know, I should really drink more tea. especially during this cold season. I think it is more warming than coffee and I love the various flavors. So, then why don't I drink it more often?????

I really love my tea. It wakes me up without making me too hyper.

I finally found Gypsy Cold Care again--hadn't seen it in a while.
