Music Monday--Roger Williams

This song, and this very version, was the number one hit when my dear husband was born, 55 years ago today.  Each day we have been together has been a beautiful blessing, unique and beautiful as the Autumn leaves.

The Autumn Leaves melody was originally a French song; this Williams version went to #1 on the US pop charts.

Nice pix. Every year I wonder how many more Falls I'll see. I never think that about Winter, Spring, or Summer.

I did not know it was originally a French song! That's neat!

You are right--Fall really does have that poignant quality about it, doesn't it?

The Church knows what she is doing in commemorating the Holy Souls during this month.

Dymphna's favorite quotes

"Slavery ended in medieval Europe only because the church extended its sacraments to all slaves and then managed to impose a ban on the enslavement of Christians (and of Jews). Within the context of medieval Europe, that prohibition was effectively a rule of universal abolition. "— Rodney Stark
