Today's Music Monday is a continuation of last week's Hear My Prayer by Mendelssohn. This is the second part of that beautiful musical prayer, called O for the Wings of a Dove.
"Slavery ended in medieval Europe only because the church extended its sacraments to all slaves and then managed to impose a ban on the enslavement of Christians (and of Jews). Within the context of medieval Europe, that prohibition was effectively a rule of universal abolition. "— Rodney Stark

Did you sing this one too? It has very high parts and I know they would have been your part.
Yeah. It is sort of the second half of the last one. But I didn't sing the solo.
i know you likely have it, but incase you don't, i'd like to offer you the Raccolta. i made a post about it on my blog.
Lovely, thanks. I imagined that it was written sometime after 1880 or so, but no, it dates from 1844.
I couldn't have pinned it down that closely!
This is beautiful and the kind of religious music I love to hear.
I love videos like this too.
