Music Monday--Mendelssohn

This is another song that we sang in college.  The soloist turned out to be the same young lady who, 5 years later, sang at my wedding.

It is a beautifully moving plea to God.

It amazes me how many different pieces I've sung over the years. I have been very blessed.

"Slavery ended in medieval Europe only because the church extended its sacraments to all slaves and then managed to impose a ban on the enslavement of Christians (and of Jews). Within the context of medieval Europe, that prohibition was effectively a rule of universal abolition. "— Rodney Stark
