Sunday Snippets, A Catholic Carnival

Sunday Snippets is brought to you each week by RAnn at a This, That and the Other Thing. This week's Music Monday featured John Rutter's Gloria.  Art and Beauty Tuesday highlighted Babailov's painting, Back to School.   For Poetry Wednesday, we read a bit from The Confession of Saint Augustine.  For Scripture Saturday, we looked at Psalm 88 and talked about Praying in the Darkness.

Today, we begin our Exaltation of the Holy Cross Novena.  Each day for the next 9 days I will post the prayer along with a picture.

Have a good week!

"Slavery ended in medieval Europe only because the church extended its sacraments to all slaves and then managed to impose a ban on the enslavement of Christians (and of Jews). Within the context of medieval Europe, that prohibition was effectively a rule of universal abolition. "— Rodney Stark
