St. Michael Novena--Day 6

St. Michael the Archangel
defend us in the day of battle.
Be our safeguard against
the wickedness and snares
of the devil.
May God rebuke him,
we humbly pray,
and do thou,
O prince
of the heavenly host,
by the power of God,
cast into Hell, Satan,
and all the evil spirits
that prowl about the world,
seeking the ruin of souls.
~Amen!

I like the contrast in this picture.  the gold against the black background is striking.

Love the icons of St. Michael you've put up. And where did you get that gorgeous picture of the stars? I don't remember seeing it at APOD, which I look at every now and then.

Thanks, Barbara. I honestly don't remember where I got the picture of the stars. I just googled "universe."

"Slavery ended in medieval Europe only because the church extended its sacraments to all slaves and then managed to impose a ban on the enslavement of Christians (and of Jews). Within the context of medieval Europe, that prohibition was effectively a rule of universal abolition. "— Rodney Stark
