Music Monday--Percy Grainger

This is part VI of Lincolnshire Posy by Percy Grainger and is a favorite among wind ensembles.  As its title suggests, Lost Lady Found is a joyful and upbeat piece.

Didn't know of this Grainger piece- thanks! He also wrote the tune to Danny Boy, known as Londonderry Air, and a children's tune called Over the Hills & far away, both of which most of us have heard.

I've enjoyed this musical piece elsewhere. I never seem to know the titles of the pieces or the composers. But I can usually hum along, LOL. Good thing I have you to enlighten me with both!

I love looking through my music to chose for Mondays.

Dymphna's favorite quotes

"Slavery ended in medieval Europe only because the church extended its sacraments to all slaves and then managed to impose a ban on the enslavement of Christians (and of Jews). Within the context of medieval Europe, that prohibition was effectively a rule of universal abolition. "— Rodney Stark
