The Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus

This is a calming and meditative Litany of the Sacred Heart set to Gregorian chant. Listen and open your own heart to God.

This is actually polyphony - what the Vatican II fathers wanted preserved along with chant as "pride of place" in the liturgy - and my favorite kind of music. The video of the Sacred Heart goes with the music very well.

Thanks, Barbara! I don't know nearly what I should about music--about anything, really!

"Slavery ended in medieval Europe only because the church extended its sacraments to all slaves and then managed to impose a ban on the enslavement of Christians (and of Jews). Within the context of medieval Europe, that prohibition was effectively a rule of universal abolition. "— Rodney Stark
