Music Monday--Dr. Elisa Koehler

This week's music Monday is a famous Vivaldi Concerto for 2 Trumpets played by Reinhard Ehritt and my friend, Dr. Elisa Koehler in Paderborn, Germany in January, 2010.

Simply beautiful. You can say, "I knew her when ..."

Love this piece. I have it on CD, but not by your friend. Brass and wind instruments have such personality, and string instruments such range and emotion. Vivaldi captures it all.

I agree. There is nothing like a good band with plenty of brass and wind instruments!

Dymphna's favorite quotes

"Slavery ended in medieval Europe only because the church extended its sacraments to all slaves and then managed to impose a ban on the enslavement of Christians (and of Jews). Within the context of medieval Europe, that prohibition was effectively a rule of universal abolition. "— Rodney Stark
