Sunday Snippets--A Catholic Carnival

Sunday Snippets is brought to you each week by RAnn at This, That and the Other Thing. We have 2 weeks worth of Sunday Snippets to do this week.

Last week's Music Monday was an all male version of Prayer of the Children and this week's was a beautiful rendition of O Come, O Come, Emmanuel, also all male.

We did a post about the Catholic origins of the first Thanksgiving a post about the anti-consumerist Buy Nothing Day, otherwise known as Black Friday, and one about my seasonal hobby, nativity figure painting.

Enjoy your week!

"Slavery ended in medieval Europe only because the church extended its sacraments to all slaves and then managed to impose a ban on the enslavement of Christians (and of Jews). Within the context of medieval Europe, that prohibition was effectively a rule of universal abolition. "— Rodney Stark
