(Emphasis mine.)So, now, private citizens are being asked to report anything that seems "fishy" or comes across (to supporters of the bill) as "disinformation" to The White House! This is more greasing of the already slippery slope of our modern government which seems hell-bent on taking away our rights.
It is responsible government to want to disseminate your party's reasoning behind a particular bill being proposed, but to ask private citizens to report anything that seems "fishy" is going overboard and infringes on the rights of this country's citizens to express their opinions and political viewpoints. America was built on free speech and open dialogue about issues. It is counterproductive to restrict the freedoms on which this country was founded by encouraging citizens to inform the government about the legal activities of the American people.
Exercise your right to free speech, before it is taken away completely.

Take note that Obama's ideas and plans are considered "facts" and disagreeing with him is considered being "opposed to healthcare reform". What a way to twist things around.
They can start with Congressman Dean Heller of Nevada (mine). How dare he make sure a) Congress has to use the same program, or b) illegals can't use it?

I've seen so many outrageous claims by paranoid people on both sides of the Obama-love-him-or-hate-him issue that I don't believe much without checking it out. And I thought, frankly, that there might well be some misinformation going on here. So I went to the White House website and poked around for about 30 seconds, then found the quote you cited at http://www.whitehouse.gov/blog/Facts-Are-Stubborn-Things/.
So it's true. We're now supposed to act as "thought police".

Sue, this stuff sure sounds made up, doesn't it? Its hard to beleive all that this administration is doing without the blink of an eye lash.
And, "Two", you are right, most Americans, like most Germans in the early 30's, won't even notice.
But why? Is it a "those who do not study history" thing? Are we so accustomed to freedom that we can't imagine a serious threat to it? Or are we already so enslaved that making it obvious doesn't faze us? I really don't understand.

No one studies history anymore. I also think we can't imagine a serious threat against us. If and when one comes (think the Germans loosing WWI) then we will be even more susceptible to a dictatorship than we are now.
