Fred Astaire Friday

Today's Fred Astaire Friday is from "Yolanda and the Thief". Fred dances with Lucille Bremer to the music of Harry Warren. The visual quality of this clip is not the best, but its fun to watch anyway. I love the floor in this room!

This floor messes with my brain like an optical illusion. I am sure I would be tripping if I tried to walk acrossed it, yet along dance ... I'm not even sure I could be one of the "clappers," LOL.

I thought of that too, but, then I can't dance anyway. On YouTube, a person commented that (during the clapping scene) the dancers are dancing in 4/4 time and the clappers are clapping in 5/4 time. Try doing *that* on that floor, lol!

"Slavery ended in medieval Europe only because the church extended its sacraments to all slaves and then managed to impose a ban on the enslavement of Christians (and of Jews). Within the context of medieval Europe, that prohibition was effectively a rule of universal abolition. "— Rodney Stark
