Happy Birthday!!!

Today is my mom and aunt's 81st Birthday. Due on Saint Patrick's Day, they were born on March 10, 1927 in Baltimore.

After my mother was born, my grandmother told the doctors that she was having another baby. They told her, no, you're not. She said, I've done this before. I'm having another baby. Low and behold, my aunt was born and named after an attending nun.

"Slavery ended in medieval Europe only because the church extended its sacraments to all slaves and then managed to impose a ban on the enslavement of Christians (and of Jews). Within the context of medieval Europe, that prohibition was effectively a rule of universal abolition. "— Rodney Stark
