I've compiled a list of my Britcoms--the BBC comedies I've seen here in the U.S. Unfortunately, I don't get tv at the moment, so I'm going through withdrawal. But, even at its best, I don't get *all* these shows at once, anyway. I have to take what I am given. I think some DVD purchases are definitely in order.
1. As Time Goes By
2. Keeping Up Appearances
3. Waiting for God
4. Vicar of Dibley
5. One Foot in Grave
6. Chef!
7. Robot Wars (with Craig Charles)
8. Red Dwarf
9. Good Neighbors
10. To the Manor Born
11. Mr. Bean
12. Are You Being Served?
13. Ballykissangel
14. May to December
15. Last of the Summer Wine
16. The Thin Blue Line
17. Two Fat Ladies
18. Kiss Me Kate

I like a lot of those shows, my daughter has been watching my husbands dvd collection of keeping up appearances.
hey gemma,
i feel your pain... i often have random cravings for shows (though not usually british). this link lets you download almost any show, american or
british, and i figured while you were tv-less, you could look for some of the shows you like here and watch them on the computer... hope you can find what you like!

Wow! Thanks, Rebecca!!!
I like most of those. For myself, I'd add in Black Adder, anything by Monty Python, some of the Benny Hills, and
of course, Fawlty Towers. also, from time to time, absolutely fabulous.
tell DN that the guitar was only good while living at home :)
I can't get into Black Adder, Monty Python or Benny Hill. I've only seen Faulty Towers a couple of times and so far, am not addicted, LOL.
DN will be appropriately horrified!
I'm a fan of KUA ("mind the cyclist, Richard"), Bless Me Father, To the Manor Born, Monty Python, and Mr. Bean.
I hate the way-too-frequent PBS beg-a-thons which boot these off the air on Saturday nights. As Onslow would say, "Oh, noice!"
Oh, I agree! The fund raisers are too much! Its so disappointing when I settle in to watch a good Britcom and end up watching them beg for money instead.
I love Mr. Bean! Every time we sing All Creatures of Our God and King, I think of him! DH and I call it "The Mr. Bean Hymn."
