8 Random Things

Cygnus tagged me with this 8 random things meme.

8 Random Things About Me

1. I was an Episcopalian for 10 years.
2. I am related to Robert Fulton (the guy who invented the steam boat).
3. I am related to Charlemagne. (Yeah, my aunt's genealogy research is worth 2 "random things!")
4. I am a cantor at Mass.
5. I can curl my tongue.
6. When I was little, I wanted to be a nun to avoid ever needing to use any math in life.
7. For quite a number of years, I had no clothes dryer.
8. I have no dishwasher now.

I tag Carmel, AutumnRose and anyone else who wants to do it.

re: Number 6. What would Sr. Anita, my High School Algebra teacher say to that one!

Well, thankfully, I didn't have Sr. Anita. I was glad to have had Sr. Judith.

I think its a genetic thing. I can't remember which teacher taught me that!

It is genetic, along with things like attached or detached earlobes and widow's peak hairline. You were probably taught it by a nun who didn't want to learn Math. LOL. Seriously, I learned it in Biology andit wasn't a nun. It was the "cat lady". Remember her? Oh, and btw, I too can curl my tongue!!!

You're right! It was biology!! She was a vegetarian too, right?

lol from a geneticist!

I am terrible at maths, but for some reason studied genetics (and yes, lifeisgreattac, those are all genetic!) and to my horror it involves maths!!! don't know where I went wrong there...

it's interesting, my dad and brother can curl their tongues but I cant...must have missed out on that gene!

interesting facts- I have been tagged with something similar, but am yet to get round to it!

God Bless

Rachi, you must be quite good at math to be a geneticist!

"Slavery ended in medieval Europe only because the church extended its sacraments to all slaves and then managed to impose a ban on the enslavement of Christians (and of Jews). Within the context of medieval Europe, that prohibition was effectively a rule of universal abolition. "— Rodney Stark
