Graduation

The long awaited day has come and gone. DS graduated from high school last night. Quite a long way from the 2 year old volunteering to take the baby Jesus (a teddy bear wrapped in a blanket) up the aisle at his day care Christmas program. We knew even then, it would go by in a flash, and it did.

Congratulations!
And he that throws not up his cap for joy
Shall for the fault make forfeit of his head.
~King Henry VI, part III: II, i

I'm sure you do remember his babyhood, Lifeisgreat! Yes, he got your gift yesterday in the mail. Thanks for remembering him.

I bought him a copy of the Gettysburg Times yesterday because it had Gettysburg and Delone's graduations as the headline. Only in a small town would your high school graduation make the front page!

"Slavery ended in medieval Europe only because the church extended its sacraments to all slaves and then managed to impose a ban on the enslavement of Christians (and of Jews). Within the context of medieval Europe, that prohibition was effectively a rule of universal abolition. "— Rodney Stark
