Good Friday

Behold the wood of the cross,
on which hung
the savior of the world.
Come, let us adore Him.

That is a beautiful picture for today. I'm getting ready to pray the Stations, and it's rainy outside. Good Friday is always like that.

It is, isn't it! My dh and I have noticed that for years--good Friday is usually overcast and rainy.

It was so amazing. I went and prayed the Stations today at 3 PM, and I had to drive through a storm just to get there. And, then, just a few minutes after three, the clouds parted and sunlight flooded the Church.

God is so gracious. I was just told that Fr. wants me to read the readings tonight, so I know it's going to be a long one. I pray that I will do well.

I'm sure you did great, moneybags!

"Slavery ended in medieval Europe only because the church extended its sacraments to all slaves and then managed to impose a ban on the enslavement of Christians (and of Jews). Within the context of medieval Europe, that prohibition was effectively a rule of universal abolition. "— Rodney Stark
