National Adoption Day

Today is National Adoption Day. There are so many children around the world who need stable, loving homes and there are so many couples who are willing to provide them. Especially in need are "older" children who have been through harrowing experiences in their short lives without parents and without proper care.

Spread the love.

Adoption--not abortion.

Thanks for this post; I had no idea it was National Adoption Day.

You're welcome. As the spouse of an "older" adoptee, it is a cause close to my heart.

I was just talking about my neighborhood the other day and how diversified it is. As part of that I was talking about the children families near me have adopted. We have kids from all over our world, living now, in our smaller world. Adoption is, indeed, a blessed event.

That's neat. I think world-wide adoption is a world-expanding thing for everyone it touches.

Dymphna's favorite quotes

"Slavery ended in medieval Europe only because the church extended its sacraments to all slaves and then managed to impose a ban on the enslavement of Christians (and of Jews). Within the context of medieval Europe, that prohibition was effectively a rule of universal abolition. "— Rodney Stark
