From Today's Morning Prayer

Some words of wisdom from this morning's Morning Prayer.
It is good to seek shelter in the Lord,
better than to trust in men.

~Psalm 117 (118)

This day is sacred to the Lord your God. Do not be mournful, do not weep. For this day is sacred to our Lord. Do not be sad: the joy of the Lord is your stronghold.

~Nehemiah 8:9,10

Given my recent near constant concern with getting proper care for both my mom and aunt, I thought this morning's readings from Morning Prayer were appropriate.

I think the message is Trust. Prayers continue for you and yours.

"Slavery ended in medieval Europe only because the church extended its sacraments to all slaves and then managed to impose a ban on the enslavement of Christians (and of Jews). Within the context of medieval Europe, that prohibition was effectively a rule of universal abolition. "— Rodney Stark
